John is an actor and singer in the UK. He's talented, and he comes across as a really nice, fun-loving guy.

I got turned on to him as Captain Jack in the new Doctor Who series. Then Captain Jack got his own series, Torchwood, a bit darker and more adult-oriented science fiction series than Doctor Who. Because I live in the Northwest U.S. near Canada, I get to watch these series on the Canadian CBC, often before they make it to U.S. television (they do run on the Sci-Fi Channel and BBC America).

If you like John, you'll like his autobiography, Anything Goes. (If you ever meet him, don't touch his head or neck.) It's down-to-earth and shows his love of his work and of his family, and his irreverent sense of humor.

His most recent CD is Another Side, a compilation of songs that he says represents the journey of his life.
