The Secret

The movie called The Secret has become a world-wide phenomenon. This movie teaches about the Law of Attraction. In simple terms, this law says that we attract to ourselves what we focus on with our thoughts and feelings and actions.

As with any phenomenon, The Secret has its supporters and distractors. The movie is definitely not perfect, but it presents such an important and empowering message - that we create our own lives - I can overlook the movie's shortcomings. If you haven't seen the movie, here's a trailer:

One of the movie's shortcomings is that Esther Hicks and the teachings of Abraham were edited out after the first few DVDs were sold (for reasons related to intellectual property rights).

Esther Hicks presents the inspirational teachings of a group of non-physical entities known as "Abraham." Abraham teaches that life is supposed to be fun. They say that your emotions are your own GPS (Global Positioning System), an unfailing and unerring "personal navigational device" to get you where you want to go.

You are a Physical Extension of the Non-physical and are here in this body because you chose to be here.

The basis of your life is Freedom; the purpose of your life is Joy. Actions and money are by-products of your focus on joy.

You are a creator and are choosing your creations as you are choosing your thoughts. You create with every thought, and anything that you can imagine is yours to be, do, or have.
